BROWSER WARS REVISITED
... AGAIN
It's a bad sign when go to look at your own
website and things don't work properly.
Recently it was embedded videos.
Brave browser usually played them
(but not always)
Comodo dragon, hardly ever.
They worked in firefox and edge,
but I gave up on browsers like those
many years ago,
when they started
showing me adverts for obscure
punk bands I'd been looking at 5 days earlier
I want no part of the corporate internet.
I'm not interested in social media
and Ai can go to hell.
I want a browser that can help me
search little known archives
and independent sites like this.
I've been trying out the LibreWolf browser
this week and all seems to be going well.
It plays embedded videos.
Okay ... belt and braces ...
I finally got down to learning some new programs and updating the site.
Older pages were made with a web editor I got free with a magazine back in 2005.
(True punk DIY stylee) I always knew this
cultural scrapbook probably looked a bit
odd in various other devices,
but call me warped ...
I always got a bit of a kick out of seeing alternative indie folks from yesteryear
getting online with ugly sites with
primary coloured texts and
graphics from the 1990s.
They were the same as me -
do it cheap, but do it.
Publish and be damned.
Check out the LibreWolf browser below
P.s: Updating the older pages would be
an act of total madness.
So I'll probably do it -
slowly, starting with the videos first ...
