             Amazing 
            photographer from small town Rumania. Considering his studio was 
            demolished the 
            year 
            he retired (1960) and his house was demolished the year he died 
            (1984), it's a wonder that  
            any 
            of his photos survived. All of his early portraits were done on 
             glass plates (silver coated Agfa) 
              
            1930s 
            photos are always the most haunting ... all those countries rushing to 
            modernity,
