Well, not quite ... but I came across this thread on reddit and had to share it ...

Interesting how some people have really, really thought about this subject.

I'm not sure of my opinion yet ... some of the downsides are obvious

(and some of them, not so much ... but the law of unintended consequences will soon take care of that)

Does make you think, though, when you see programs on well known tech billionaires

who have moved to Canada and become preppers ...

I'll be OK, though. I'll be living in Micronesia,

repairing boats and swearing never to speak English again

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING ?

Okay, I know this is the internet, and it's tempting to skip to the end (I do it all the time),

but, if you haven't seen these films, you'll get the most out of them by watching from the

beginning and all the way through ... or just save them for the next time you visit that

wholemeal friend in the countryside who refuses to own a TV,

or the next time you take a long, boring train journey.

Saw this TV movie in the 80s and was bowled over by it.

Took a while to find it, especially as I had somehow thought it was Italian.

Unusual fare from Franco's Spain

(34 Minutes)

American viewers might be more familiar with this, but it's shown very rarely in the UK.

(1 Hour, 44 Minutes)

Quite a few films of this period had quite a subversive edge, which I love ...

See also Sullivan's Travels (1941), Time, Gentlemen, Please ! (1952) and,

of course, the classic Day The Earth Stood Still  (1951)

P.s: I usually re-process films and have them play in a new tab in 720p resolution,

but it takes quite a long time and I'm feeling unusually lazy at the moment -

maybe later ...

Remember when all free online games were total dross ... well, actually they pretty much still are -

so it was a real thrill to find this one. Crazy Games have really upped the ante on playable online content -

no install - no registration (unless you want to save games)

This is the first decent 'dogfight' game I've ever played ...

developers often struggle between 'fun game' and 'simulator',

often sacrificing one over the other - graphics vs playability.

This is spot-on (and very addictive)

I haven't sussed out half of this game (but happily lost a whole evening through it) -

for quick-start, I just used 'W' for speed-boost and mouse for move/shoot

N.B: I did notice that the website 'remembered me' the whole evening -

even when I'd shut down the computer and gone to do other things -

so I recommend adblocker and cookie-cleaner
